I was honored recently to be asked by Butler University instructor Elisa Lucchi to speak to her Language Translation class on Butler's beautiful campus in Indianapolis. She requested that I share the origin of the book and take questions from her students regarding the intention behind some of the book's text and illustrations to help students' better translate "Hugo" from English to Spanish. It was a fascinating class and it reminded me how much each word matters when telling a story - no matter the language! I'm grateful to have been able to spend time with these students and for their efforts to provide a future version of "Hugo" to those who prefer to read it in Spanish. Muchas gracias, Butler Bulldogs!
